This example uses the email address "support@solution21.com"
Step1: Open the "Settings" app
Step2: Select "Passwords & Accounts"
Step3: Select "Add Account" at the end of the "ACCOUNTS" List
Step4: Select "Other"
Step5: Select "Add Mail Account"
Step6: On the "New Account" screen: fill up the followig fields and select "Next"
- Name (example Support)
- Email (example support@solution21.com)
- Password
- Description -- this is how the account will be displayed on the iPhone (it can be changed later)
Step7: Make sure that "IMAP" is selected and fill up the following fields and then select "Next"
- INCOMING MAIL SERVER
- Host Name mail.solution21.com
- User Name <same as email address>
- Password <email address password> -- automatically filled and showing "dots."
- OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
- Host Name mail.solution21.com
- User Name <same as email address>
- Password <email address password>
- Notes:
- the "OUTGOING MAIL SERVER" fields MUST be filled up (even though the screen displays "Optional")
- the Host Name is mail.solution21.com
- for both INCOMING and OUTGOING MAIL SERVER, AND
- regardless of the email address (like info@somedomain.com).
- the "Verifying" step can take a few seconds while the credentials are validated.
Step8: Select "Save" after the credentials in the previous step have been validated
Step9: DONE - back to the "Password & Accounts" screen but with the new account added to the "ACCOUNTS" list
It should now be possible to receive and send emails in the Mail app using the newly added account
